School Partnerships

School Partnerships

We have been working with Schools in the UK and The Gambia since 2006, and it all began with Bassetts Farm in Exmouth donating boxes of books and stationery to M’Baien school.

Since then we have taken many more boxes, school chairs, tables, pens, pencils, musical instruments, outgrown school uniform and home clothes out to Gambian schools. We collect the donations, package them up and export them from Exeter. Once they arrive in The Gambia they are collected by Kebba and our volunteers in The Gambia and delivered to the partner schools we support.

The children have also written to each other with news of their school and home lives which are very different.

We were soon joined by St Peter’s school in Lympstone, who have donated many many bags of clothing and games kit, reading books story books and even bicycles!

The next partnership we gained was with Holyport in Windsor. They collected an enormous amount of stationery which made its way out to the very remote schools. The headmaster said…

“This has enabled each child to have his own exercise book, pencil and rubber.”

Partnering with UK schools really does make a difference, and we are so grateful for all the support we have from the schools, teachers, pupils and parents!
