Milling Machine

Each day the women of M’Baien Village have to pound their maize in a wooden pestle and mortar which takes up most of their day. But now – with the help of a donation we were able to buy a milling machine.

The machine has changed the women’s lives. What used to take all day now takes seconds so they have more time for themselves and no callouses on their hands.

The school and village has also benefited, as a small charge is made for each ‘cup’ of grain milled. The money pays for a machine operator and a measurer which gives work to the villagers on a rota.

All profits from the machine go to the Mother’s Club  and pays for school uniform for those unable to afford it, stationery, school outings and much more.
